Skyline has played in the past two Class 2 Final Fours. The Lady Tigers are poised for another deep state tourney run, but one-loss Jasper has March plans of its own.

Siblings Dylan and McKinsey Mountain are multi-sport standouts for Skyline, excelling on fields and courts throughout the year for the Tigers and Lady Tigers. While their athleticism is unquestioned, the "Odd Couple" brother and sister are even better people.

Strafford has not lost a Mid-Lakes Conference game since 2009. The Indians have won five-straight Mid-Lakes titles, and will be a prohibitive favorite to make it six in a row.

The Mid-Lakes Conference is, arguably, the most competitive girls basketball conference in the state. The Mid-Lakes is a perennial threat to send a team (or teams) to Columbia. This year will be no different, as the conference is as competitive as ever.

There are plenty of intriguing match-ups featuring local teams in the second round of districts. Winners advance to next Friday's district championship games.

Skyline head volleyball coach Leslie Acker was faced with this question recently. She believes every coach should answer this question for themselves. As for Acker, she coaches because she loves the game and her girls on the team.
